Hi, my name is Marcela. I haven't decided yet what I will be sharing about me in this blog, It may sound a bit cliché but I currently find myself at an uncertain time in my life, trying to re-discover myself, someone who I´ve been burring under false ideals and obligations for a long time. To manage this, I have (and still am) trying different things, amongst them I find that cooking, nutrition and understanding my body´s functioning have become a way of introspection and knowledge that I have been enjoying.
I have been vegan for nearly three years now and feel that this way of life is so in alignment with myself and my spirit that I get excited only by thinking about it. My diet consists of whole foods which make me feel my best, I eat an abundance of fruits and vegetables, low in fat and try to keep my diet high in raw foods! During the winter I have been enjoying more cooked and grounding dishes as well as simple steamed vegetables, usually for dinner.
All in all, some of the recipes in the blog are meals that I enjoy once in a while, however I do cook them weekly as I have found that living with my family, I, as a vegan who likes to cook, can prepare meals for my mother and sister and by doing this I can help the animals, the planet and take care of my family´s health while having fun and exploring with my creativity.
